Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anna Seidel is Assistant Professor of West Slavic Literatures and Cultures at the Department of Slavonic Studies, University of Vienna. A literary scholar by training, her research focuses on post-migrant cultures and literatures, urban writing, the Energy and Environmental Humanities, and discourses of Central Europe. Her monograph The City in a State of Emergency: Spatial Subversions in War Narratives by Lidija Ginzburg, Miron Białoszewski, and Dževad Karahasan was published by Transcript Verlag in 2025. She is also one of the directors of MUSMIG, an initiative working toward the establishment of Austria’s first Museum of Migration, and a board member of the Hof der Kulturen (Court of Cultures) at the Museum of Folk Life and Folk Art in Vienna.
