Jana Piňosová is a historian and research associate at the Sorbian Institute in Bautzen since 2015. She studied Eastern European History at the University of Bonn, where she earned her doctorate in 2015 with the work “Inspiration Nature. Nature Conservation in the Bohemian Lands until 1933” (publ. 2017). Her research interests include historical minority research, the history of nature and environmental protection, as well as the entangled history of the Sorbs in the 20th century. She is currently conducting research on the lives of Sorbian young people who lived and went to school in the Czech border area between 1945 and 1950.
