Kristina Schierbaum is a research associate at the DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education in Frankfurt am Main. After completing a master's degree in educational science, foreign German studies/German as a foreign and second language and ethnology/cultural history in Jena, she received her doctorate in 2018 at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main on the life and work of the child researcher Janusz Korczak. Her research interests include historical educational research and childhood research with a focus on remembering and forgetting, Jewish childhood in Poland until 1945, and education at children's homes and orphanages in the former GDR.
