Dr. Marina Gerber studied Applied Cultural Studies at the Leuphana University Lüneburg and Art Theory and Philosophy at Middlesex University in London. She was a scholarship holder at the DFG-Research Training Group “Knowledge of the Arts” at the University of the Arts Berlin, and completed her doctorate there with the thesis, Empty Action: Labour and Free Time in the Art of Collective Actions (transcript, 2018). Between 2016 and 2019 she taught at Queen Mary University London. She is Research Assistant and Coordinator for Eastern European Studies at the Institute of Slavic Studies at the University of Hamburg and has been the co-organiser of the seminar series “Decolonizing Eastern Europe” in Hamburg since 2020.
