Matthias Thaden

Matthias Thaden studied history and European ethnology in Berlin, Belfast and Zagreb. In 2021 he received his doctorate with a thesis on Croatian exile policy in West Germany (published in 2022 under the title "Migration and Internal Security. Croatian exile groups in the Federal Republic of Germany 1945–1980" [Migration und Innere Sicherheit. Kroatische Exilgruppen in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland 1945–1980]). Following a traineeship at the Berlin Museum of European Cultures [Museum Europäischer Kulturen], in 2023 he took up a position at the Museum as a research assistant in collection and provenance research.
