Dr. Olena Saikovska, a PhD in Literary Studies, is a specialist in Ukrainian and Bulgarian studies. She was an Associate Professor at Odesa I.I. Mechnikov National University, Ukraine (2014-2022), and a fellow of the University of Tübingen: Research@Tübingen Program (2022, 2023), the Athene Program (2024-2025), and the DAAD (2022, 2023).
Since October 2023, she has been leading the project "Ukrainian Studies" as a visiting professor at the Slavic Department of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen (2023-2025). She teaches courses on Ukrainian language, Ukrainian literature and Slavic literatures.
Her research interests include postcolonial studies in contemporary Ukrainian literature and Slavic literatures, memory and trauma studies, as well as teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language.
