Dr. Stephan Heinrich Nolte, born in 1955, worked as a pediatrician in Marburg for 30 years before retiring in 2022. He studied medicine and cultural studies in Göttingen, Freiburg and Paris and then completed his specialist training in Freiburg before becoming a senior consultant at the University Children's Hospital in Marburg from 1990 to 1992. During his residency, he completed psychotherapeutic training and gained international experience in Rwanda, Calcutta and Nepal. Since his retirement, his research has focused on the history of pediatrics with an emphasis on Eastern Europe, National Socialism and medical ethics. He is married and has five children and ten grandchildren.
