Books open up worlds, enable encounters, and create experiences. The German-Polish Literature Days on the Neisse present books and their authors, as well as translators and critics from Germany, Poland, and other parts of Eastern Europe. They are organized by the Cultural Advisor for Silesia.

The aim of the literature festival is to arouse curiosity and spark delight in the discovery of a shared history and present. Through a range of event formats, such as readings, film screenings, concerts and performances, interesting facets of the Central European region’s past and present are explored. In this way, the “Literaturtage an der Neiße“ provide a forum for international cultural exchange – and always a home for good books.   
The German-Polish Literature Days on the Neisse is a collaborative project of the Görlitzer Kulturservicegesellschaft mbH, the German Culture Forum for Central and Eastern Europe, and the Cultural Office at the Silesian museum, Görlitz. The event was held biannually in 2014, 2016 and 2018. The fourth iteration planned for April 22–26, 2020 had to be postponned due to the COVID19 pandemic and will take place on April 21–25, 2021.
