Invited by the Cultural Office for the Danube Region, about 80 young people manage to live out – on a small scale and for one week – something that seems to be tremendously difficult on a large scale. They come from Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Moldavia – until now, the main thing that has connected them has been the Danube!
Text
The Danube Region as a major European development and experimental field of the future stands as a symbol of international understanding and political, economic and cultural cooperation in Europe.
International Danube youth camp “Europe is us”
Text
Under the motto "Europe is us", young people from the Danube Region come together, get to know each other, exchange experiences and knowledge, and learn to see their respective homelands as part of a larger context. Knowledge about the Danube region is imparted and explored in seminars and workshops. In contrast to holiday camps, the youth camp has an important political context. The leitmotif "Europe is us" clearly shows that a common Europe endures and has a future despite the adversities of today's world.
