The courses were developed between August 2022 and February 2023 at the Leibniz Institute for the History and Culture of Eastern Europe (GWZO) as a cooperative project between several institutes from the Leibniz Eastern Europe Network and two Leibniz Institutes of Education. The project was based on an idea developed by Dr. Max Trecker and Prof. Dr. Maren Röger. The courses were coordinated by Dr. Stephan Stach, who also created the content in collaboration with Anne-Marie Otto and Daniel Sagradov. Dr. Imke Rath (GEI), Prof. Dr. Maren Röger (GWZO), Dr. Max Trecker (GWZO), Prof. Dr. Sebastian Lentz (IfL), Dr. habil. Anna Veronika Wendland (HI), Dr. Ksenia Gatskova (IOS) and Dr. Corinna Kuhr-Korolev (ZZF) also contributed their expertise to the creation of the courses. The initiative was funded by the Leibniz Association as part of the project "Strategiefonds-2022-GWZO-LFN ÖE Bildungsangebote".
