Jana Stöxen studied comparative European and American Studies in Halle (Saale) and Cluj-Napoca (Romania), and East-West Studies with a focus on Culture and Political Science in Regensburg. She was a research assistant on the Food Guide „Jewish Cuisine“ project and is currently working on a doctorate in Comparative European Ethnology at the University of Regensburg. With the support of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, she is investigating contemporary everyday culture, transformation, and migration in Southeastern Europe, particularly in Moldova and in a transnational context.
