The "WarendorferWeihnachtsPlätzchen" event on the second weekend of Advent has become an established tradition of the pre-Christmas period in Warendorf. In the eastern part of the town's historic center, visitors of all ages are offered culinary, entertaining and creative treats: At various stations throughout the museum, warmed by a cosy atmosphere, flickering candles and firelight, people gather to feast on baked apples, craft Christmas tree decorations and sing carols to welcome in this reflective, tranquil time of the year. A stroll through the historic town center in the afternoon is also a special experience for everyone, as there are so many things to see and be amazed by, including poems, puppet theater, marvelous mechanical machines, and storytelling. Organized by the Cultural Office for West Prussia, Poznań, and Central Poland, the Christmas market is held in the cloister of the West Prussian State Museum itself and is a cooperation with a number of artists, creatives and other representatives of the cultural sector.
