You would like to contribute to the research, preservation or communication of the German cultural heritage in Eastern Europe? The BKM supports, among other things, research projects, conferences, publications, theater, film and exhibition productions. It also supports projects to promote cultural exchange and measures to safeguard and preserve German cultural monuments and archives in the former eastern provinces of the German Reich and the historical settlement areas of the Germans in eastern Europe.

The general project funding of the BKM according to § 96 of the Federal Expellees Act has been made available to support scientific projects or projects of cultural communication and cultural heritage preservation, which can refer to any time period from the Middle Ages to the present.
Applications are accepted from legal entities (e.g. associations, foundations, universities) based in Germany and can be submitted throughout the year.
Wolfgang Nossen, born in Wrocław in 1931, had to do forced labor at the Cosel Jewish Cemetery as a teenager. During the filming of the documentary "Wir sind Juden aus Breslau" (We are Jews from Wrocław), he told a group of German and Polish young people about this at Wrocław Central Station in October 2015..
