The library contains the largest specialized collection on the history of the Czech Lands, Czechoslovakia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia in the whole of Germany and Western Europe
The Collegium Carolinum administers the holdings of the community library, which is made up of the following organizations and institutions: Collegium Carolinum, Sudeten German Institute, Adalbert Stifter Association, Sudeten German Foundation and Historical Commission for the Czech Lands. Since December 2001 it has been part of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Münchner Osteuropabibliotheken.
