The Cultural Advisor organizes events, projects, and exhibitions regarding the culture and history of Germans in Southeastern Europe. An important aspect of this are the activities directed at young people.
Text
On its meandering course through Central and Southeastern Europe, the Danube flows through or touches ten countries. Although the Danube Region is influenced by various different cultures, landscapes, and economic regions, the river connects all of these states. The diversity of this region, its potential as well as its deficits, calls for an increased commitment to international cooperation. The work of the Cultural Advisor focuses not only on nurturing and further developing the specific regional cultural traditions of Germans in Southeastern Europe, but also on wide-ranging and impactful communication about the culture and history of Germans in East Central and Southeastern Europe to an interested public, both in Germany and abroad. The Cultural Advisor is committed to the preservation of a shared European cultural heritage in cooperation with the people who live in these regions today. The range of services and activities on offer include workshops, seminars, lectures, travelling exhibitions, as well as events for young people that take place multiple times a year. The Cultural Advisor also advises and supports the cultural work of a number of displaced persons organizations.
